  • Measure over 16 inches or 24 inches from the ceiling and center the second row of furring strips. Install the furring strips to the ceiling in the same way you did the first row. Rep as you make your way across the ceiling.
  • Start with the first piece of drywall in the corner where you left off. To keep the drywall sheet in place, put a drywall screw into each corner. Drive more screws about 12 inches apart along each side. Repeat for each sheet of drywall that has to be installed.
