Here’s a guide to help you choose the right width and style of curtains for a 48-inch window. When it comes to curtains for a window, the width of the window is the most important factor.

Remember that the width measurement is flat. There will be no fullness or draping if you hang a 48-inch panel on a 48-inch window. To determine the length of your curtains, start by measuring the length of each end along the floor. Add one inch to this measurement and add that to your window’s length, which will be double what you measure on the floor.
Then measure off another inch of additional length from each end. When you iron out your two-inch hem, it will be finished and ready for hanging.

How Do You Cover A Window Without Curtains?
You can block the view by placing household objects in front of the window, or you can make your own covering out of film or glass paint. If you want a more permanent solution, you can install blinds, shades, or shutters.

Let this coat dry for 24 hours before brushing on another coat. To create a more opaque coverage, apply two coats of paint. Newspaper or napkins can be used under all the layers to help keep them from melting when the paint does start to soften.
