What Is A Vinyl Patch?

Vinyl Patch is a top-performing concrete repair material that can be used for fixing minor damages on concrete surfaces. This product is made up of a mixture of sand, Portland cement, vinyl resin, and other high-quality ingredients.

It’s suitable for repairing chipped, cracked, or flaking concrete surfaces, such as driveways, sidewalks, steps, and floors, both indoors and outdoors. The application process is straightforward, and it can be spread thinly, up to a feather edge of 1/16 inch, on the damaged surface.

Vinyl Patch boasts remarkable strength and durability, bonding exceptionally well to clean, sound concrete without the need for a bonding agent. Additionally, it has excellent resistance to ultraviolet light and heat, ensuring long-lasting color retention.

No additional bonding agent or additive is required when using this product, making it a convenient solution for fixing concrete surfaces. Whether you’re repairing a concrete floor, driveway, or any other horizontal surface, Vinyl Patch is the perfect choice for a durable and high-quality repair.

Installation Of Vinyl Patch

To install, follow these steps:

Surface Preparation

Start by removing any unsound concrete in the repair area and wearing proper protective equipment. Use a trowel to lift loose pieces and a wire brush to remove crumbling concrete.

Smooth surfaces must be roughened and the area should be cleaned of loose particles and dust. Clean with QUIKRETE Concrete and Asphalt Cleaner, then rinse with water.

Mixing

Mix approximately 10 fl oz of water with 5 lb of Vinyl Patch, making sure to mix thoroughly. Add water gradually if needed to obtain a firm consistency, but be mindful not to add too much as it may negatively impact the performance of the product.

Application

Dampen the repair area with clean water, remove standing water, and apply the mix with a steel or rigid plastic trowel. Overfill the depression slightly and smooth to match the surrounding concrete.

If repairing a vertical surface, apply in 1/4 inch layers, allowing 2 hours to dry between each layer. Keep the trowel clean to prevent sticking and clean tools immediately with water before the material hardens.

Curing

In hot, dry, or windy conditions, keep the patch moist for 24 hours by covering with polyethylene film. It will support foot traffic in 1 day and wheeled traffic in 3 days.

Note: Throughout the installation process, it is important to maintain cleanliness and keep tools and surface free of debris to ensure optimal results.
