What Should Be The Kiln Temperature In Cement?

The kiln temperature in a cement plant should be closely monitored and regulated to ensure the quality of the end product.

In general, temperatures in the preheating zone of the kiln should stay between 600-750˚C while the burning zone should hover between 1300-1450 °C.

As a reference point, clinker is usually formed at around 1300-1450 °C and ideally its production should take place as close to this specific temperature as possible.

Careful monitoring within these ranges allows for an optimal combination of efficiency, energy conservation and product quality.

Cement kiln dust (also known as CKD) is the finely-ground, highly alkaline particulate waste material collected from a cement plant’s air pollution control devices.

It is most commonly used as a cement additive to increase strength and durability, reduce shrinkage, and improve workability.

In addition, it can be used as an aggregate in asphaltic concrete surfaces, as a soil amendment, or even to help adsorb hazardous materials like heavy metals or petroleum hydrocarbons.
