Does Epoxy Terrazzo Scratch Easily?

Epoxy terrazzo is less likely to scratch than other types of terrazzo. It is recommended that polished surfaces be finished with wax or a sealer, which will help prevent surface damage. Terrazzo is a type of flooring made from a mixture of materials, including marble, granite, quartz, glass, and other similar materials.

The material is then poured into a mold and allowed to harden. Once it has hardened, it is ground down to create a smooth surface. Terrazzo is a popular flooring choice for many commercial and public buildings because it is durable and easy to maintain.

One of the reasons that terrazzo is so durable is that it is nonporous. This means that it does not absorb spills or other liquids, which can cause damage to other types of flooring. Seamless epoxy terrazzo is also a good option for resisting scratches and surface damage.

This durable flooring material comes in multiple colors and can be used as an internal or external surface. An epoxy terrazzo floor uses a combination of concrete, epoxy resin, and filler powder to create beautiful floors resistant to damage from heavy traffic and spills.

How Do You Use Epoxy Terrazzo?

Epoxy terrazzo coatings are installed by fixing metal divider strips to the slab with an epoxy adhesive. Once the divider strips are in place, the installer mixes the two-component epoxy resin with the decorative aggregate and pours the material onto the slab.

The material is then spread evenly across the surface of the slab using a trowel. Once the material has been spread evenly, it is left to cure for a specified time. An epoxy terrazzo floor is made up of two main components: a part A epoxy resin and a part B hardener.

These two parts are mixed in a specific ratio (usually 5:1) and then thoroughly mixed for several minutes. Once the mixture is complete, it is poured onto the floor and left to cure.

The next step is to apply an epoxy/polymer concrete sealer. If a surface condition is water-sensitive, the floor should be sealed before the surface cures. Finally, the floor is polished to remove any defects in the surface.
