Can I Spray Lysol In My Window Air Conditioner?

Use a disinfectant cleaner, such as Lysol Hydrogen Peroxide Multi-Surface Cleaner, to clean the air filter. A disinfected, clean air conditioner will provide a fresher odor, and a safer environment, and will help your family stay healthy all year.

If you do not have a disinfectant cleaner, use a commercially available all-purpose cleaner to clean the air conditioner’s filter. Always follow the manufacturer’s directions on any cleaning product. These Lysol spray instructions are for personal use only.

You can also safely spray Lysol into your window AC unit’s filter. To do this, select the fan setting, turn off the air conditioning, and close all doors and windows in the room that contains the air conditioner. Turn off the air conditioner’s power switch and disconnect the unit from its power source.

Spray Lysol into your air conditioner’s filter according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 3–5 minutes). Allow 5–10 minutes for the Lysol to dry thoroughly before turning on your unit again. This will help ensure that you’re breathing clean, fresh air when you turn it back on.

When choosing an air conditioner, there are three major considerations. First is your budget. Then, look at the size of the air conditioner. The size you choose will depend on the room it will be installed in and how the room is used.

For example, if one room of your house is for sleeping then you want a smaller unit. Then there’s the noise level and how long does it take to cool a room? Lastly, determine if you want an AC that is window-mounted or a central-air model. Window models use less energy but also need more space around them because ductwork is required to move air from one room to another.
