How Much Space Should Be Between The Radiator And The Window Sill?

A minimum of 4″ between the top of the radiator and the bottom of the sill is recommended. More is sufficient. Less than that, and the radiator looks a little crowded. If you require more heat, consider installing a deeper radiator (with more columns) or adding another in the room.

There is no recommended distance between the window sill and the radiator in a heating or air conditioning system. They are there to provide proper ventilation in your home and to reduce condensation.

If you have any concerns about ventilation, then you can place a barrier (such as aluminum foil) between the radiator and the window sill. There is no need for a minimum space between the window sill and an evaporative cooler unit (e.g., swamp cooler).

It can be difficult to find a suitable spot for an air conditioning unit. It is possible (if not likely) that you’ll require more than one unit in the attic or at the top of your house. One of your options is to place the compressor in a room that lacks windows, so it will be much easier to keep clean.

When you’re placing windows or skylights, keep in mind that there should be no obstacles as far as reaching outside and hanging things on them. If there’s no way to reach out and hang items, then you’re probably better off looking for another spot for the window or skylight installation.
