How To Install Column Base Plate?

To install a column base plate, the first step is to locate the column line using the centerline of an anchorage template.

Then, an anchorage kit should be installed for each column and placed on a concrete footing.

After that, the anchorage template should be removed and a beam plate should be placed in the location where the column will be installed.

Next, two screws should be screwed into the small portion of the beam plate using a 5/16” hex bit.

The base plate can then be added to the steel column by going to Design tab on the ribbon and selecting Base Plate in Properties window.

Autosize can either be left selected or unselected to manually define the plate size.

Finally, stable base plates should be anchored to the floor via four holes and secured with floor fasteners.
