Do INTU Blinds Damage Window Seals?

No, they don’t unless you cause the damage while fitting. This, however, is impossible because perfect-fit blinds are among the simplest blinds to install.

In most cases, a blind’s seal is removed by a contractor. This is not something INTU recommends as it’s an unnecessary risk. The risk of damage to the window seal can be minimized by following these easy steps:

  1. Use a washable plastic ‘sling’ to lift open the window frame.

INTU Blinds are manufactured from recycled materials and have been tested to ensure they will not damage any part of your home or its windows, doors, or surrounds. INTU Blinds are foldable and can be placed wherever you wish within your home without damaging any parts of your home.

  1. Do not fit into your window frame when the blind is still in the packaging.

Once fitted, a blind is inserted into the window channel and held in place by an internal tension strut.

  1. Once fitted, remove the plastic ‘sling’ from above and release the tension strut that holds it in place.

You can now take up to 12mm of material from around your window frame to cover any gaps at either side or beneath your new blind with a piece of 5mm thick beige linerboard or 5mm thick wood-look board for decorating purposes.

  1. When the blind is fully closed, you will see that there is material around the top of your frame.

To minimize this, there is a small hole at the rear of the blind which can be opened to release the tension strut and then used to remove any extra material from around your frame.

  1. Tension struts are normally used only when required and you will notice that they are not visible from the outside after installation.
